Assistant Project Officer - NSW Government 

  • Tamworth location/hybrid
  • Immediate start, contract through to 31st December 2024 with view to extend
  • $55ph + super
  • 40hours/ week, Monday to Friday
This large Government organisation within the community and  housing sector requires an experienced Assistant Project Officer for a temporary contract with the possibility for extension. You will be working as part of a collaborative, goal-orientated team under experienced leadership and assisting in the management of a range of project to deliver initiatives within the portfolio. 

Your day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the management of a range of project to deliver initiatives within the portfolio 
  • Undertake operational aspects of project implementation including monitoring project plans, coordinating resources and managing deliverables and tasks 
  • Assist with research and analysis to support the development of key projects across the portfolio 
  • Support in managing projects designed to review, monitor and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery within the portfolio 
  • Provide operational advice and communication to stakeholders regarding project statuses and implementation issues as well as analysing issues to recommend appropriate solutions 
  • Prepare a range of project-related documents for key stakeholders as required, including status updates, reports, budgets and discussion papers to manage the flow of information
  • Deliver on assigned projects and processes within agreed upon deadlines and quality standards
  • Update project documentation, including registers, which support delivery of projects in compliance with agreed upon project methodology
Skills and experience:

  • Experience in a Project support role is essential, ideally in the Government, Property or Housing sectors 
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with stakeholders is required 
  • Highly organised and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to make decisions and prioritise tasks
