Client Service Officer - NSW Government - Victims Services

3 x positions available

  • $34ph + super
  • Immediate start pending checks
  • Initial 3 month contract with view to extend
  • Parramatta location/Hybrid ( 2 days per fortnight required in the office)
  • Full time, Monday to Friday. 38 hours per week

This large Government department within victims services is seeking an experienced Client Service Officer to join the team for an initial 6 month contract with the potential to extend.

The Customer Service Officer places an integral role in providing front line services to the community from a local office, this includes a range of client and administrative services that contribute to the effective delivery of quality services in the local office. This is a highly rewarding working environment, offering the opportunity to assist those in the community.

We require candidates who are ready to hit the ground running and are able to act with professionalism, objectivity and integrity

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Work in a trauma informed way to ensure that the needs of the client are holistically addressed
  • Assist in the delivery of client service and support for victims of crime, and ensure a timely service that exceeds client expectations with assistance as needed
  • Provide first contact information and referrals, and process applications for victims support, with assistance as needed.
  • Work collaboratively across Victims Services to ensure the effective administration of the Victims Support Scheme, and to identify opportunities to improve our policies, procedures and practices
  • Achieve and exceed all key performance indicators and performance targets
  • Be aware of and comply with all relevant legislations and regulatory framework.
  • Accurate data entry and record management, maintaining confidentiality at all times

Skills and experience:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive issues and confidential information
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to handle confronting situation and remain calm under pressure
  • Decision making and problem solving skills
  • Planning and prioritising workloads to meet deadlines in a demanding work place
  • Tech savvy - the ability to pick up new systems quickly
  • A background in community services or prior experience within the NSW Government is beneficial
