 About the Role: 

  • Identifies, evaluates and manages the adoption of database administration tools and processes, including automation
  • Manage database configuration including installing and upgrading software maintaining relevant documentation
  • Provide guidance on the application and operation of elementary virtual, physical, procedural and technical security controls
  • Maintain operational security processes and checks that all requests for support are dealt with according to agreed procedures
  • As a member of the ICT team, assist with development and implementation of ICT policies, procedures and processes
  • Liaise with contractors and other information system providers
  • Ensure that the infrastructure is setup with best security practice
  • Accountable for the overall health and integrity of the Council’s database systems

About You:

  • 3 years’ experience within Database Administration
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Server
  • Knowledge of database systems in a cloud infrastructure environment (Amazon RDS or Azure SQL preferred)
  • Knowledge of database security best practices and experience implementing security measures.
  • Great understanding of data modelling concepts and practices
  • ITIL Certification preferred
  • Advanced teamwork skills, must be able to connect with colleagues and work together toward common goals
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to set priorities and follow direction to plan and organise.
  • Ability to work autonomously and seek guidance when necessary
  • Proof of vaccination certificate
