- HR Advisor to support Business Partners | Updating policies
- Reporting into HR Manager | 2-month contract
About the Role:
Our client a Local Government based in the southeastern suburbs is looking for a HR Advisor to join their people & culture team. You will be reporting into the HR manager and working alongside business partners in the team. This role is full-time, is initially contracted for 2 months and is to start ASAP.
The company operates on a hybrid model, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and timely HR advice to managers and staff
- Contribute to the review and update of HR policies, procedures, and programs
- Interpret and advise on relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and enterprise agreements
- Support the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
- Deliver HR projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
- Assist in data reporting and analysis using HRIS systems
- Support compliance and audit-related activities
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
- Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within local government or a complex organisation
- Strong understanding of employment legislation and enterprise agreements
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Experience using HRIS systems such as PageUp or AURION is desirable
- Familiarity with local government or public sector frameworks
