  • HR Advisor to support Business Partners | Updating policies
  • Reporting into HR Manager | 2-month contract
 

About the Role:

Our client a Local Government based in the southeastern suburbs is looking for a HR Advisor to join their people & culture team. You will be reporting into the HR manager and working alongside business partners in the team. This role is full-time, is initially contracted for 2 months and is to start ASAP.

The company operates on a hybrid model, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide accurate and timely HR advice to managers and staff
  • Contribute to the review and update of HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Interpret and advise on relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and enterprise agreements
  • Support the full employee lifecycle including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, and offboarding
  • Deliver HR projects and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Assist in data reporting and analysis using HRIS systems
  • Support compliance and audit-related activities

About You:
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role, ideally within local government or a complex organisation
  • Strong understanding of employment legislation and enterprise agreements
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential matters with discretion and professionalism
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using HRIS systems such as PageUp or AURION is desirable
  • Familiarity with local government or public sector frameworks
