About the Role:My client, a local government is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their People & Culture team on a 3-month contract to cover a secondment backfill. The council are based in the north-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. They offer a hybrid work setup of 2-3 days in the office and 2-3 days from home, depending on the week. The position is ideally full-time but are open to considering work 4 days per week. The role reports into a Senior Business Partner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with leaders to provide general HR advice, support, and guidance on a variety of matters, including performance management, secondments, higher duties arrangements, Enterprise Agreement guidance, and policy advice.
- Engage in employee relations activities such as employee investigations and support leaders in managing organizational changes.
- Contribute to high-level People & Culture projects that drive strategic outcomes.
- Report to one of our Senior Business Partners and support the operational day-to-day activities of the team.
- Strong background in HR business partnering within complex environments.
- Experience managing workplace relations, including performance management, grievances, and change management.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to liaise confidently with internal leaders.
- Ability to adapt quickly, manage stress, and persist towards goals despite obstacles.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys contributing to high-level projects.
- $57 per hour + superannuation.
