Practice Manager – Accounting Firm- Practice Manager
- Sydney CBD
- Full-time | Permanent
- Up to $120,000 package, negotiable based on experience
This is a broad and rewarding role where you'll have the autonomy to make improvements, drive efficiency, and work closely with a collaborative leadership team. You’ll be across everything from practice systems and compliance to team support and client coordination — all within a high-trust, professional environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations using Karbon and Xero Practice Manager (XPM)
- Oversee ATO correspondence and ensure timely document lodgements
- Administer ASIC compliance and maintain corporate registers via NowInfinity
- Coordinate client onboarding, annual engagement letters, and service agreements using Ignition
- Draft and manage professional client communications and documentation
- Monitor internal workflows and optimise practice systems for efficiency
- Liaise with ATO, ASIC, and external providers on behalf of clients and the team
- Work closely with the accounting and tax teams to ensure seamless internal operations
- Train staff on systems and workflows, including Karbon, Ignition, and compliance processes
- Lead the end-to-end onboarding process for new employees
- Prepare induction materials, schedule sessions, and support new starters during transition
- Oversee building maintenance, office assets, insurances, and compliance licences
- Ensure smooth day-to-day functioning of the office environment
- Provide training, ensure best practice usage, and liaise with software providers on updates and support
About You
- Extensive experience in a similar Practice Manager, Operations Manager or Senior Admin role within an accounting firm
- Confident managing compliance, workflows, and multiple software platforms
- Energetic, solutions-focused, and driven — you take initiative, adapt quickly, and bring a positive presence to the team
- Proficient in Xero and Karbon.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organised, proactive, and confident working independently
- A team player who values culture, quality, and continuous improvement
