Job description

My client, a large public sector organisation, require an experienced Management Accountant to join their Finance and Procurement team as soon as possible. 

Reporting to the Management Accountant Coordinator, you will be required to perform the following duties : 

  • Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements
  • General Ledger reconciliations 
  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of budgeting and forecasting 
  • Month-end reporting / other ad-hoc reports 
  • BAS
  • Credit Card expenses review 
  • GL system maintenance
  • Assist the Finance Business Partners with advice relation to costing, forcasting and internal reporting

Skills, experience and qualifications required:

  • Advanced problem solving skills 
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail whilst working towards deadlines
  • Good understanding of general ledgers and subsidiary ledger accounting principles 
  • Experience of a large or complex organisation / large data 
  • Ability to assess and recommend changes 
  • Capacity to work under minimal supervision (with some guidance from the Management Accounting Coordinator)
  • Degree in Accounting or related subject and working towards CPA / Completed 
  • Local government experience preferred
