Exciting opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable Officer with local council experience to work in a high volume role and be part of a growing council & community in the North

About the role:

  • Internal and external stakeholders to achieve timely recoveries
  • Manage, action and prioritise accounts
  • Taking payments over the phone 
  • Develop experience in the recovery of monies owed via telephone 
  • Maintain accurate account records, ensuring all relevant customer information is obtained and updated
  • Successfully negotiating disputes
  • Collecting & recovering
  • Adhering to all compliance and legislative requirements

Ideally you'll have:

  • Telephone debt collection experience
  • Professional telephone conduct with debtors
  • Excellent PC skills
  • Excellent customer service capabilities with strong persuasion and negotiation skills
  • The ability to empathize and resolve debts professionally
  • The ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate experience in accurate allocation and receipting of customer payments using electronic systems
  • A high attention to detail and pride in your ability to achieve outcomes
