About the Client
Our client is looking for an analytical, motivated and self-driven person for a long-term Financial Analyst position. The role will have a focus on state-wide budgets and cash forecasting and reporting.


Responsibilities

Decision Making:

  • Actions required to ensure continuing efficient and effective reporting to management and reporting for other requirements
  • Identifying reporting needs and implementation of additional systems when required
  • Advising Treasury of any significant adjustments to daily cash balances
  • Provide advice and recommend decisions on the daily cash availability
  • Prioritising day-to-day and ad hoc responsibilities
  • Certifying correctness of annual budgets and adjustments for Health Entities loaded into the Budget Transaction System
  • Approval to process authorised SMRs budget allocation adjustments

Decision Referrals:

  • Approval of new reporting policies and procedures
  • Approval of monthly cash projections to Treasury
  • Approval to process authorised SMRs budget allocation adjustments
  • Approval of reports
  • Any inconsistencies, variances and irregularities identified as a result of analysis


Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in an accounting degree and CPA or equivalent, fully qualified
Knowledge and understanding of Public Finance and Audit Act, Treasurer's Directions and relevant legislation, including accrual accounting and cash management
