About the Company:

We are currently working with a market leading, well-known name in the media industry. They are looking for an Payroll Officer on an initial 12 month fixed term contract to come into a period of growth and expansion.
This will be a hands-on role and will suit a candidate who enjoys a challenging but rewarding position within a team environment.

About the Role:

Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be working within a team and will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • End – end fortnightly and monthly payroll processing for 500 employees ANZ wide using Chris 21 
  • Setting up new employees, updating salaries and benefit categories and exiting terminated employees in the Super Choice Clearing houseAssist payroll manager with ad hoc payroll reports 
  • Reconciliation and processing of superannuation contributions through super choice clearing house   Respond to payroll enquires 
  • Calculation and remittance of payroll tax
  • Calculate and process termination payments 
  • Posting monthly payroll end reports to finance   
  • Preparation forecast to finance for payroll monthly payment, PAYG Tax
  • Award and EBA interpretation   
  • Assisting with payroll queries and enquiries as required   

About You:

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and possess high attention to detail.    

  • Prior experience (>2 years)  in a similar role is essential   
  • Chris 21 system knowledge is essential   
  • Exceptional organisation skills with a strong attention to detail   
  • Experience dealing with high volume workloads where prioritization is key   
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal   
  • A can-do attitude and a friendly personality   
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, sometimes pressurized ​​​​​​​
