1 x Events Coordinator

  • Day rate: $500 - $600 + super
  • 6 month contract
  • Sydney, CBD – Full time in the office 

Our client, a leading Financial Services organisation is seeking for a temporary events coordinator to join their team at their gorgeous, state of the art offices in the heart of Sydney CBD.

We are looking for an individual that is highly experienced with events from inception to execution, including venue research, event proposals, budget management and event-related reporting. The role will have significant exposure and interaction with senior management. In addition, the successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of business strategy and goals, and be equipped with strategic, financial and project coordination skills.

Role responsibilities:

  • Lead event initiatives in region, partnering with lines of businesses, marketing and functions to develop impactful programs aligned to business strategy
  • Manage the end-to-end process of event planning, ranging from event briefs, research, approvals, invitee & speaker management, venue set-up, event design, onsite support, production management, budget management and post-event analysis
  • Manage external vendors and venues on all event-related matters
  • Effectively manage corporate hospitality and ticketing – working directly with ticketing vendors and recording of ticketing through a global ticketing portal for audit purposes
  • Manage and keep track of event budgets with a view to cost efficiency
  • Adhere to internal policies and procedures with regards to reporting activities and spend, compliance regulations, approval processes and ensuring appropriate documentation is in place
  • Accurately maintain Events database which includes event metrics, budgets, invoicing, ticketing and event collateral.

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Events, Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Hotel Management, or a related degree will be highly regarded
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in event planning and management/execution, preferably in the financial services industry
  • Excellent English oral and written communications skills with a high level of attention to detail. Proficiency in an additional language would be an advantage
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and must be savvy with technology
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical and project management skills
  • Ability to confidently lead and manage events on an end-to-end basis
  • Strong focus on organisation and process
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers to secure favourable terms and ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • After-hours work and travel may be occasionally required
