Job description
This Government department based in the heart of Sydney’s CBD are currently looking to recruit a Financial Accountant on a six-month contract, responsible for all statutory reporting for the department and cluster agencies
The successful candidate will be required to implement Government changes and related issues for the department and sub-cluster agencies
Responsibilities will Include:
- All internal and external statutory reporting according to statutory requirements
- Month end & Year end processing, including journals and coding
- Dealing with the General ledger and Balance sheet reconciliation
- All financial reporting
- Liaising with key stakeholders on financial reporting matters
- The financial management processes and the transition to a new model
- Implementing Government changes
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with all agencies and stakeholders
Essential Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance
- CPA/ CA qualified
- Managing the delivery of high quality statutory financial statements
- Thorough knowledge of AAS and PSA requirements
- Analytical skills
