  • 6 month contract, opportunity to go permanent
  • Based in Western suburbs of Melbourne, hybrid working
  • Partner with the business to provide strategic & operational HR advice 

 

About the Company

Charterhouse are partnering with large statutory body, based in the inner suburbs who are looking for an experienced HR professional to assist and advise their workforce. The role will report to the People & Culture Manager and work closely with the General Manager, supporting various facilities. You will be involved in recruitment, advising on HR issues & contracts as well as supporting with governance and compliance. This varied role will suit someone who thrives in a complex environment and has a vested interest in the sports industry. You will initially go into the office 2-3 days per week for training. Once you have completed your training you can work hybrid but will need to travel into Melton once a week to meet with a key client group.

How will you make an impact?

  • Provide advice on the interpretation of HR policies and procedures, employment legislation, recruitment strategies, and managing change processes, providing risk analysis to support this.
  • Co-ordinate the end to end talent acquisition and selection process, including background screening and onboarding.
  • Arrange exit interviews, separation checklists and closure of personnel files etc.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management - coaching, counselling, career development, disciplinary actions allowing for positive changes in people management
  • Provide guidance and input on business unit management, workforce planning and succession planning
  • Identify and promote new ways of working, empowering approaches to people management in support of delivering organisational business plan
  • Build strong working relationships based on credibility and open communication
  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the wider HR team to develop solutions, programs and policies.

 

 

To be successful, you will have;

  • Tertiary level qualifications in human resources, industrial relations or related discipline
  • Demonstrated relevant experience, working in an operational HR role or business partner level
  • Professional knowledge/experience of - case management, industrial agreements & HR principles and practices
  • Ability to work alongside team members and build strong working relationships
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills to develop strategies, plans, policies and solutions 
  • A proactive and positive attitude towards work
