Job description
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Senior Accountant to join a well-established and highly regarded Chartered Accounting firm based in Melbourne’s CBD. The Role In this role, you will:
- Prepare and review financial statements and tax returns for Individuals, Companies, Trusts and Partnerships
- Manage BAS, IAS and GST compliance for a portfolio of clients
- Assist with tax planning and advisory work
- Review work completed by junior staff and provide mentorship where required
- Liaise directly with clients and provide ongoing accounting and tax advice
- Assist Directors with client portfolio management and complex tax matters
- Ensure all work is completed in line with ATO regulations and Australian Accounting Standards
- 4–7+ years’ experience within Public Practice Accounting
- Strong experience preparing and reviewing financial statements and tax returns
- Experience managing client relationships and deadlines
- Exposure to tax planning and advisory work
- CA or CPA qualified (or near completion)
- Experience using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Work closely with experienced Directors in a supportive environment
