Job description
Financial AccountantNSW Government
Location: Sydney CBD (Hybrid)
Rate: $450 per day + super
Contract: 7 months
We are currently partnering with a State Government Department to recruit a Financial Accountant for a temporary contract through to 31 August. This is an excellent opportunity to gain exposure within a high-performing public sector finance team while working in a flexible, hybrid environment based in the CBD.
Key responsibilities:
- Assisting with month-end reporting and financial close processes
- Preparation and posting of journals
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Variance analysis and commentary
- Supporting internal and external reporting requirements
- Assisting with process improvements and ad hoc finance tasks as required
Skills & experience:
- Degree qualification in Accounting
- Progress towards CPA or CA qualification
- Strong understanding of month-end processes, journals and reconciliations
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical capability
- Strong Excel skills
