Job description
An excellent opportunity has become available for an Intermediate Accountant to join a well-established and highly regarded Chartered Accounting firm based in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. This firm is known for its collaborative culture, strong technical training, and clear progression pathways.Working closely with experienced Managers and Partners, you will gain exposure to a diverse client base and have the opportunity to further develop your technical and advisory skills.
The Role In this position, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation of financial statements and tax returns for Individuals, Companies, Trusts and Partnerships
- Preparation of BAS and IAS
- Assisting with tax planning and compliance work
- Preparing workpapers and reconciliations for year-end accounts
- Liaising with clients to obtain financial information and documentation
- Working closely with senior staff and managers to meet compliance deadlines
- Supporting a varied portfolio of SME and growing businesses
- 2–4 years’ experience within Public Practice Accounting
- Experience preparing tax returns and financial statements
- Exposure to BAS/IAS preparation
- Experience using Xero, MYOB or similar accounting software
- Currently studying or planning to commence CA or CPA
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A positive attitude and eagerness to continue developing technically
- Strong mentorship and training from experienced Managers and Partners
- Support for CA/CPA studies
- Exposure to a broad client base across multiple industries
