About the Role:

My client is looking for a Finance Officer to join them and collect, record and analyse financial data and produce financial reports to support sound financial decision making.

Duties to include:

  • Check and report on the governance of financial services activities to ensure existing accounting policies are consistent, remain relevant and comply with current accounting standards, work processes and controls
  • Undertake financial reconciliations of numerous balance sheet accounts including  the bank reconciliation and maintenance of fixed asset registers in line with policy standards, accounting, reporting, stocktaking and revaluation of assets. These reconciliations need to be completed in a timely fashion
  • Provide information, as required, to internal and external auditors to support compliance with accounting procedures
  • Respond to financial inquiries by collecting, collating and interpreting data to ensure that the matters raised are handled or appropriately referred
  • Develop and maintain a sound understanding of the operations  to be able to support management to comply with financial accounting requirements
  • Perform the Petty Cash function
  • Compile financial information as required for Estimates Committee and Annual report purposes  

About You:

  • Background in Government
  • Relevant Accounting Qualifications
