Job description

The primary purpose of the role is to proactively provide 2nd level IT support for our client’s network, provide project support, and manage technical escalations from within the IT team. The business units are geographically dispersed and supported by an IT group primarily located in Sydney. The role is technology focused and requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills as well as exceptional written and oral communication abilities. This role will be expected to be the escalation point for all technical issues that cannot be resolved within the 1st level teams.

What you’ll do:

  • Installing, configuring, updating and maintaining server software/hardware
  • Ensure that clinical and operational aspects of IT are delivered to the business with the aim of ensuring full operational functionality is maintained at all times
  • Maintaining IT standards across all systems under their jurisdiction
  • Respond to P1 and major incidents/outages, maintain solid and continued communication with appropriate teams’ and coordinate the resolution
  • Capacity and performance management of IT systems
  • Ownership and management of tickets assigned to your queue through to resolution
  • Maintaining technical documentation, reports and records regarding infrastructure solutions
  • Testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning infrastructure software/hardware to ensure
  • optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues

Who you are:

  • Good knowledge of Windows Technologies and Operating Systems (Messaging, DHCP,
  • DNS, Active Directory, Group Policy, SCOM, SCCM, Terminal Services etc.)
  • Good knowledge of virtualisation technologies (VMware and Hyper-V)
  • Good knowledge of Citrix XenApp, deploying and maintaining a large Citrix farm
  • Good knowledge of Office 365 and other cloud services (Azure, AWS etc.)
  • Sound knowledge of Storage systems (SAN, iSCSI, Fibre switching, LUN management and performance trouble shooting)
  • Experience with scripting (preferably PowerShell)
  • Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills
  • Understanding of DICOM and HL7 messaging desirable
  • Knowledge of Linux operating systems desirable
  • Experience working within the ITIL v3 framework desirable
  • Experience with clinical systems desirable
