Payroll officer - Temporary
About the company
A large local government office based in South- East Greater Melbourne area, requires an experienced Payroll Officer for a 3 month period starting on April 26th.
About the role: (not limited to)
- Prepare accounting journals, bank transfers and the transmission of EFT of Payroll Payments and tax payments
- Preparation and cost allocation of salaries and wages time sheets, including processing reports for the reconciliation of payroll to the General Ledger
- Reconcile payroll deductions for PAYG, Superannuation and various other organisations
- Data input associated with payroll and Human Resources Systems, including the production of salary advice forms and reports
- Administer reports and maintaining employees' individual Superannuation records
- Documentation relating to the termination, movements and other changes in status of employees
- Process, check, reconcile and calculate Leave Applications
- Administer Long Service Leave and Sick Leave
- Provide advice and information to Managers and employees on payroll issues
You will have experience with:
- At least 3 years experience in a similar end-to-end Payroll position with similar duties
- Excellent communication and customer services skills
- High level of accuracy and professional conduct
- Interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements
- Applying taxation and superannuation legislation
- Working with HRIS, Payroll and Timekeeping systems
- Chris 21 payroll software (Desirable)
