Payroll officer - Temporary 

About the company


A large local government office based in South- East Greater Melbourne area, requires an experienced Payroll Officer for a 3 month period starting on April 26th.

About the role: (not limited to)

  • Prepare accounting journals, bank transfers and the transmission of EFT of Payroll Payments and tax payments
  • Preparation and cost allocation of salaries and wages time sheets, including processing reports for the reconciliation of payroll to the General Ledger
  • Reconcile payroll deductions for PAYG, Superannuation and various other organisations
  • Data input associated with payroll and Human Resources Systems, including the production of salary advice forms and reports
  • Administer reports and maintaining employees' individual Superannuation records
  • Documentation relating to the termination, movements and other changes in status of employees
  • Process, check, reconcile and calculate Leave Applications
  • Administer Long Service Leave and Sick Leave 
  • Provide advice and information to Managers and employees on payroll issues

You will have experience with: 

  • At least 3 years experience in a similar end-to-end Payroll position with similar duties
  • Excellent communication and customer services skills
  • High level of accuracy and professional conduct
  • Interpreting and applying Enterprise Agreements
  • Applying taxation and superannuation legislation
  • Working with HRIS, Payroll and Timekeeping systems 
  • Chris 21 payroll software (Desirable)
