Payroll Project Manager

  • NSW State Government  
  • 7-month Contract 
  • $850 – $880 Daily


About the Role:
The role reports to the Finance Director (CFO) and will work closely with the Finance Operations Manager in ensuring payments are processed on time and accurately.

The role is in 2 parts:


Project Management – Payroll system upgrade (Aurion)

  • Updating payroll system (TFN changes) and other. This includes testing and systems documentation
  • Reporting and providing status update to Project Owner and manager (SME)


Payroll Management BAU

  • Managing payroll and a payroll call centre team of 4, and 2 payroll officers paying some 20,000 one-day workforce across the state
  • Escalate and triage payroll queries from the payroll mailbox
  • Point of escalation and investigating payroll and payment related issues (such as fraud, back payment, non-payment).
  • Liaising with the Finance Operations team, Venues team, and other teams in the agency to ensure that payments are made and received according to expected dates


About you:          

  • Strong experience in project managing payroll system implementation/improvements in a large organisation
  • Exposure/experience in finance processes
  • Highly organised, offer pragmatic solutions, proactive
  • Prince2 methodologies
