About the Company
This local government authority, based in the Northern suburbs, close to public transport, have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Communications professional to join their busy team. This organisation are going through some substantial growth and this role will play a substantial part of this. Your tasks will be diverse as you will assist the team achieve their goals and targets. This is a a 4 month contract.

About the Role:

  • Research, write, and edit Council publications and other communications material such as the bi-monthly magazine, speeches, postcards, and posters
  • Develop communications and engagement information across existing communications channels
  • Building positive relationships throughout the organisation and also with external stakeholders
  • Working alongside the Project Manager in order to proactively manage issues and prepare key communications
  • Proactively manage Council’s communications program, corporate communications, media relations and issues management

To be successful in this position you must have:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience working within communications 
  • Experience working in local government and/or community based 
  • Proven industry experience and tertiary qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal as well as strong project management skills
