Job description
- $79 – $88 per hour + super
- 6-month contract | ASAP start
- South of Melbourne CBD | Hybrid work available
- Part-time availability will be considered
This opportunity offers autonomy, scope to implement positive change, and the chance to work with a dedicated payroll team supporting a workforce of ~1,000 employees.
Key responsibilities:
- Oversee and evaluate fortnightly payroll operations and internal team capability
- Act as liaison with auditors, vendors (Aurion), and the current project team (Aurion Cloud transition)
- Review payroll processes for alignment with enterprise agreement obligations
- Evaluate the Aurion payroll system for optimisation and risk management
- Recommend improvements to payroll reporting, systems and procedures
- Lead end-of-year payroll processing
- Ensure compliance, data integrity, and optimal use of Aurion functionalities
- Provide operational and strategic guidance for continuous improvement and audit facilitation
- Proven experience managing complex payroll operations in line with enterprise agreements
- Strong understanding of wage compliance, payroll legislation, and process improvement
- Demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll, reporting, and statutory requirements
- Skilled in system and process evaluation, with a focus on optimisation and risk mitigation
- Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Experience leading or mentoring payroll teams
- Proficiency in Aurion and/or Humanforce highly desirable
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and driven by continuous improvement
