3-month Planning Support Officer opportunity to work for a large council in the Southeastern suburbs | ASAP start | $42 p/h + super

  • Previous Planning Officer experience within a local government essential
  • Represent a Local Government authority providing excellent service to members of the community 
  • ASAP start | 3-month temporary opportunity |Full time hours | $42 p/h + super
We are currently seeking an experienced Planning Support Officer to join a busy and collaborative planning team within a large organisation in Melbourne’s south-eastern suburbs. This is a 3.5-month contract with an immediate start, supporting a team of statutory planners with administrative, customer service, and planning-related tasks.

This role is ideal for someone with experience in statutory planning or planning administration who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and supporting planning processes from application through to completion.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process planning applications including minor amendments, VicSmart applications, approval of plans, and permit extensions
  • Respond to phone and counter enquiries relating to planning matters
  • Prepare written responses to planning enquiries
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the planning team
  • Assist with records management, documentation and file maintenance
  • Support internal teams by providing advice or information on planning-related matters
  • Assist with coordination of meetings, briefings and team activities where required
 

To be successful you will have:   

  • Experience working in statutory planning or planning administration
  • Knowledge of Victorian Planning Schemes and planning legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
  • A current driver’s licence
