Job description
Senior Accountant | Mid-Tier Firm | Fast-Track to Manager- Salary: $100k - $120k + Super (Negotiable based on experience)
- Location: Brisbane CBD (Hybrid Flexibility)
- Firm: Award-winning Mid-Tier Practice
About the Firm
Our client is a highly respected, top-20 mid-tier accounting firm located in the heart of Brisbane’s CBD. Known for their sophisticated client base and collaborative culture, they provide the technical excellence of a "Big 4" environment without the grueling overtime. Due to organic growth and a recent promotion, they are looking for a driven Senior Accountant to join their Business Advisory team.
The Role
This isn't just a compliance role. You will work closely with a diverse portfolio of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, large private groups, and international subsidiaries.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of complex financial statements and tax returns for companies, trusts, and SMSFs.
- Providing high-level tax planning and advisory services (Division 7A, CGT concessions, and FBT).
- Managing your own client portfolio and acting as the primary point of contact.
- Mentoring and reviewing the work of undergraduate and intermediate accountants.
- Assisting Partners with ad-hoc consulting projects and business valuations.
- Clear Career Path: Defined KPIs for promotion to Assistant Manager/Manager.
- Work-Life Balance: Genuine 37.5-hour weeks with flexible start/finish times and 2 days WFH.
- Professional Development: Full support for CA/CPA (fees and study leave) and regular in-house technical training.
- Culture: A social committee that actually has a budget—think Friday drinks, team sports, and annual retreats.
- Modern Perks: State-of-the-art office, health insurance discounts, and a "dress for your day" policy.
You are an ambitious accountant who feels "stuck" in your current role and is ready for more autonomy and advisory exposure.
- 3–5+ years of experience in an Australian Public Practice firm.
- CA or CPA qualified (or very close to completion).
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian Tax Law.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable advice for clients.
- Experience with Xero, MYOB, or APS is highly regarded.
