In this role you will be working under the Financial Controller carrying out the role of Financial Accountant. Within this role you will also have the opportunity to get involved with Financial Analysis as well as projects to improve efficiencies within the finance team. 

Responsibilities

  • Developing and enforcing finance policies across the organisation.
  • Involvement in, and in some cases lead, process improvement projects.
  • Preparation/review of internal and external management, statutory and regulatory reports ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Providing proactive, analytical financial advice to management.
  • Assisting with managing internal and external audit reviews including coordinating the annual reporting process. This will involve developing and implementing plans and timetables and ensuring deadlines are met and appropriately signed off.
  • Preparation of journal entries, reconciliations and assist with ad-hoc requests from other departments within the Bank.

About You

  • Previous experience as a financial accountant across the banking or wider financial services space. 
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or related discipline.
  • Advanced excel skills and ability to advise on improvements and changes to current processes.
  • Familiarity with Ultracs an advantage but not a necessity.
  • High levels of integrity, honesty and professionalism.
  • Strong relationship building, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment, show initiative and personal accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively analyse financial data and develop reports for an Executive Team and Board.
  • Demonstrated ability to present data to all stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and stakeholders under tight deadlines.
  • Demonstrated willingness to embrace organisational change including use of modern technology and an ability to analyse and problem solve in the context of change and continuous improvement.
