Job description

This leading ASX listed company has continued to be an industry leader within their sector and due to a surge of growth has seen a number of large programs now in place.  An opportunity has arisen for a senior Project Manager to join the team on a 12 month contracting basis.  Working in a professional and stable team this role will see you work on a number of complex projects working with senior level stakeholder across both Technology and the Business.  You will play a pivotal part in building capability across the organisation where you will lead and develop others on an exciting transformation program.

Responsibilities:
 

  • With the support and guidance of the Global Systems Steering committee manage, oversee and coordinate all projects under the Global Systems umbrella from concept through to full implementation and warranty period
  • Ensure all projects/work packages are managed under the agreed governance and documents mandated by the Leadership team
  • Interface with the Software Vendors and internal business areas at the leadership level, managing project group expectations
  • Deliver project meetings in accordance with the agreed internal project communication plan
  • Manage the project group to ensure the risks, actions, issues and key decisions are highlighted, documented and completed where applicable within the agreed robust governance framework
  • Ongoing review of respective projects to ensure best practice and continuous improvement is delivered throughout the project lifecycle
  • Ensure that Software Vendors and internal business area requirements and analysis workshops are completed to define business, process, functional, technology requirements and data gathering and analysis needs
  • Manage the discovery phase of projects, engaging with the vendors and internal business areas in workshop, interviews and one to one sessions
  • Ensure all project reporting is accurate and delivered to the agreed timescales, including project status and delivery to individual milestones, RAID logs, highlight reports and executive summary reports, project tracker and timesheets etc.
  • Manage the change control process as defined and agreed within the PID
  • Review the lessons learned log and deliver the lessons learned meeting and report in conjunction with the project group
  • Manage all work streams and projects in accordance with set project methodology and governance, in a structured fashion ensuring all documents, tools and templates are accurate and maintained at all times
  • Facilitate in country with the support of the local Change Champions the training and deployment of Global Systems
  • Manage the change management strategy for respective projects
  • Take an active role and manage trouble shooting where required
  • Responsible for the accurate allocation and forecasting of own resource across projects and other activities and project group resource for individual projects
  • Maintenance and accuracy of all respective Project documents and tools, including business case, resource allocation, project summary, etc.


Core Requirements 

  • MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook)
  • Experience in Salesforce
  • Strong understanding of Project Management Principals / Best Practices (e.g. Prince II, PMBOK)
  • Ability to effectively manage time, prioritize work, multi-task across many assignments and delegate
  • Consultative and solution based skills
  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrable negotiation ability
  • Demonstrable team work and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to explore and have the ability to rationalize win/win customer and business focused outcomes
  • A positive attitude towards change and change management
  • Ability to be self-motivated and self-managed
  • High level of persistence

  • Proven experience in managing client relationships through project implementations

  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Experience with supporting both purchased and in-house developed hardware and software applications
  • Experience creating Business Requirements, Project Plans, Project Schedules and associated project materials
