Our client, a Local Government based on the cusp of Melbourne’s CBD are looking for a Senior People & Culture Business Partner to join their P&C Team. This role is to start ASAP and is contracted until July 2026 due to parental leave.
This is a full-time role, working Monday – Friday. The company offers hybrid work options, 3 days in the office and 2 days from home. The role reports into the P&C Business Partnering Lead.
About the Role
- Partner with a portfolio of the business to provide guidance and advice on HR related matters
- Provide expert guidance on complex ER/IR matters, including performance management, misconduct, EA interpretation, and workplace investigations
- Partner with leaders across the business to coach and guide them through people challenges
- Lead or support organisation-wide HR initiatives, policy reviews, and strategic workforce planning
- Use data and reporting to shape conversations and support evidence-based decision-making
- Build strong, consultative relationships with internal stakeholders and union representatives
- Proven experience in a senior HR/Business Partnering role, ideally within complex or unionised environments
- Strong background in employee and industrial relations, including case management and investigations
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- A collaborative approach and ability to juggle priorities in a dynamic setting
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related discipline
