Management Accountant

Job description

This role is responsible for management reporting on a monthly basis with a specific focus on
understanding technical drivers of product performance, expense reporting versus prior year and budget and emerging trends in
performance. Within this role you will work closely with both the broader Finance team and the various business units in order
to ensure accurate and timely delivery of management reporting and strategic support to the business.
 
Opportunity
 

• Prepare and review monthly results, including commercial and analytical commentary of monthly management
• Reporting
• Supporting the Financial Accounting team with the monthly general ledger closure processes
• Provide timely monthly financial reporting with commercial analysis and insight on the results
• Variance analysis and trend analytics for business performance
• Preparation of monthly performance slides to be included in management pack for Executive review
• Performing a review of momentum in the business to estimate profit based on settlement unders/overs each quarter
• Perform in depth and detailed revenue analysis by product to provide insightful analysis on performance
• Perform sensitivity analysis on different product scenarios with varying cost of capital and cost of funding drivers
• Analyse data files to identify commercial opportunities and process improvement
• Development of annual budget setting models and undertaking bottom up build of targets with the business leads
• Provide input to the Board report process and collate Board presentations
• Maintain integrity of the reporting systems ensuring it always remains effective and operational
• Involvement across the various lines of business focusing on strategic priorities
• Involvement in the delivery of the budget and forecasts across all areas of the business
• Validate and challenge monthly financial performance

 
What will help you succeed?
 

• Accounting degree plus completion of either CPA or CA
• Proven track record in a similar role
• Financial Services experience (preferred but not mandatory)
• Analytical and commercial acumen
• Advanced level of Excel skills
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships and influence others
• Effective time management, including the ability to meet deadlines and operate under pressure
• Self-reliant, resourceful and proactive while also being a collaborative team player
• Excellent organisational and problem solving skills with the ability to identify issues
