The Client
We’re working with a large public health organisation who’s looking to backfill a couple of existing positions. The team is extensive and often has employees gone for long periods of time, needing excellent candidates who can jump in and do the role while the full-time employee is away.

The Role
The management accountant will perform a series of tasks to ensure the company's financial security, handling all financial matters and assist in the preparation of the financial accounts and statutory reports.

Description

• Preparation of monthly management reports, including updating financial and cashflow forecasts
• Assess internal controls
• Analyse monthly financial information
• Help create company budgets
• Hands-on analysis of costs and cost drives to support operations
• Complete and review tax returns
• Help manage the general ledger
• Coordinating and actioning accounting operations
• Develop reporting procedures and strategies to ensure the finance function continues to achieve efficiencies and compliance with policies and accounting standards

The Right Candidate

• Experience working in a similar role with strong experience in management accounting and financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Government experience, especially in NSW Health is highly encouraged
• Formal qualifications in Accounting or a related discipline coupled with a CA or CPA
• Strong Oracle experience
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a proven ability to liaise with executive, managers and other non-finance stakeholders 
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and development of financial, processes, procedures and reporting
• High commercial acumen with a demonstrated ability to identify and understand trends and provide analytical support to drive insights and recommendations
• Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement and development of financial, processes, procedures and reporting
