Job description
This leading ASX listed company has continued to be an industry leader within their sector and due to a surge of growth has seen a number of large programs now in place. An opportunity has arisen for a RPA Manager to join the team on a permanent basis. Working in a professional and stable team this role will see you work on a number of complex projects to enable the business to achieve improved productivity and cost savings. You will play a pivotal part in building capability across the organisation where you will lead and develop others on an exciting transformation program.
Responsibilities
- Articulates platform vision and business value of building, supporting and developing the RPA capability, proactively driving end to end automation of interdependent business process
- Establishes, Maintains & extends the Robotic Process Automation Platforms (UiPath & UFT) as a Strategic Enterprise Platform, aligned to the IT & Automation Strategy, Roadmaps and Investment Strategies/Delivery Plans
- Provides leadership and oversight of the Platform Team (including permanent, contingent and service provider employees/headcount) ensuring alignment to IT, business unit (service/process owner) strategies and goals
- Develops, sets and manages platform policies, standards, processes, governance framework, integrated where appropriate with the A&I Federated Operation Model (across all user devices, where appropriate)
- Own/proactively manage the RPA platform architecture (includes process & test automation capabilities), ensuring the right solutions are designed, implemented & maintained, maximising cloud based, out-of-box automation capabilities, across the Enterprise (working in collaboration with IT Group Services Architect, Domain and Enterprise Architects where appropriate)
- Works closes with the relevant vendor account teams to maximise commercial value from the platform
- Champion of chief platform projects and purchases; including selection and provision of project staff & associated commercial agreements, supervise platform projects, technology refresh, release management, vendor management, licencing, hardware/cloud, devices and encryption
- Works with the Automation Delivery Manager & local business unit Automation Delivery Hubs to ensure the right platform resources are available at the right time, with the right competency & skillset to deliver as required
- Represents the service across the business, representing the service in change advisory meetings / approves changes to the platform
- Manages staff performance and personal development, building skillset and competency to provide today, tomorrow and future platform services across the Enterprise (in team, & in RPA community)
- Owns, develops & drives the platform strategy & roadmap to maximise strategic and commercial value from the platform across the Enterprise
- Provides thought leadership to broader Automation Strategy, providing input to roadmap prioritisation, investment strategies, project scoping / business case development and platform delivery team selection/oversight
- Provision & continual improvement of platform support services within agreed SLA’s
- Ensures stability, performance and a platform user experience that delivers high user experience (NPS)
- Stays current of platform products & applicable integrated technologies & drives team capability build activities
- Overall ownership and management of the UFT & UiPath instances
- Maintains portfolio of platform products and strives to make these easier for the business to use
- Overall ownership and management of application escalations
- Actively contributes to automation & improvement program governance team, including set up and governance of a federated operating model & associated communication/training plans / artefacts
- Makes records of current plans & processes and communicates platform team progress to the key stakeholders through effective presentations and reports (including, but not limited to value realisation), including management reporting in collaboration with the Manager A&I Delivery
- May manage medium sized project teams operating in multiple streams of work that may include; automation development and delivery, process analysis and assessments, automation operating model definition, and other automation related consulting services
- Ensures effective training and coaching programs from improving automation knowledge in the enterprise, relevant to the RPA platform and services
Core Requirements
- Background within a Utilities Sector Highly desirable
- 10+ years IT experience with 3+ years’ experience setting up, delivering and ongoing management of Robotic Process Automation, through a federated operating model across a large, complex, geographically distributed organisation
- Strong Stakeholder Management & Communication Skills
- Strong analytics/commercial skills – driving team to prioritise
- Strong problem solving, owns risks/issues and drives through to sustainable solution
- Proven ability to manage a scaling Service Now Platform while meeting deadlines
