Job description

Opportunity to join a global leader in technology services and digital transformations consulting within their Tax & Finance department, working on behalf of an Australian multinational banking and financial services company headquartered in Melbourne. This Tax & Process Analyst role would see you investigating tax and legislation queries alongside the legal department, translating findings to key stakeholders and customers.

Role responsibilities:
This is a 6 month contract role starting ASAP with view to extend dealing with customer tax queries. Responsibilities include, but not limited to;

  • Assessing the queries coming from staff, operations, in country local bankers, front line or customers
  • Initial assessment of each case based on the priority and complexity attached to the specific scenario and then deciding on delegating tasks to Operations
  • Review of assessment performed by operations and ensure correctness of result to be communicated to internal/ external stakeholders
  • Timely and accurate communication with the internal/ external stakeholders associated with the case in a professional manner
  • Highlighting process gaps and suggesting realistic solutions to improve day to day processes, getting approvals from management and communicating to team
  • Providing SME support to Helpdesk urgent customer queries received from ongoing calls and providing quick solutions / decisions / next steps maintaining positive customer experience
  • Leading specifically assigned customer campaigns and taking them to closure
  • Handling Customer Complaints end to end by gathering case history from various teams (operations, bank staff, frontline, various teams) and preparing a formal response for the given customer complaint
  • Assisting in requirements analysis of various utilities built by our tech-team for Operations


About You:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to lead information gathering, investigation efforts and implement change
  • Ability to understand the needs of multiple stakeholders and respond appropriately to complex problems in short timeframes
  • Hands on project experience of working on FATCA and CRS legislations or any other legislation responding to customer queries and escalations
  • Strong understanding of taxation concepts in general – AU and NZ taxation experience preferred
  • Strong data analysis skills, enabling accurate interpretation of tax residency information collected over different channels and time-frames
  • Proficiency in the delivery of analysis outcomes, including: current state analysis, root cause analysis, improvement initiatives, process vision and design
  • Good working knowledge of excel - working knowledge of SQL and technical skills to be able to access various databases to fetch data to assess cases
  • Excellent communication, reporting and presentation skills and email drafting skills with experience in drafting customer responses in the past.
  • Experience in handling customer complaints
