The Company:

Listed, management consulting company looking for an Allocations officer to cover a maternity leave.

 

About the role:

The core activity of this role is to receipt, allocate funds from all interested parties. Payment receipts from clients,  financiers and buyers on all operating systems and products against the corresponding invoice, to ensure the ledger always reflects an accurate record of the outstanding debtor’s position.

  •  Timely and accurate receipting of all invoice payments to ensure an up to date debtors position is always available to the Collection Officers.
  • A sound knowledge of the job processes and system requirements enabling:
    • Identification and processing of cash receipts from the bank statement.
    • Prompt follow up of unidentified deposits, i.e. contacting customers for remittances.
    • Contacting bank for details of over-the-counter cheque deposits. Scheduled follow up after initial enquiry.
    • Daily cheque banking.
    • Advising collections department on allocation of cash, advising of any short payments or overpayments.
    • Reconciliation of debtor accounts (allocation of funds reconciliations) – Adhoc.
    • Reconciliations of client accounts.
    • Advising Reconciliation Department upon receipt of car sales funds.
    • Running of direct debits.
    • Invoice generation.
    • Actioning of suspense accounts.
    • Investigate allocation discrepancy and missed allocation reports.
    • Manage data tracking through internal systems.
    • All emails to be actioned within 24 hours.
    • Ensure filing is up to date.
    • Adhoc tasks.

 

About you:

  • At least two years experience in a similar type role such as Accounts receivable, billings or credit control.
  • Intermediate MS excels skills; previous use of pivot tables and vlookups.
  • Reconciliations experience.
  • Has high attention to detail.
