Job description

A prominent NSW Government Department based in CBD is seeking a Business Support Officer to join their team on a temporary basis

Primary Purpose

To provide a range of Senior Administrative and Clerical services to the team to support the unit outcomes in a timely, reliable and highly efficient manner.

Duties 

  • Compilation of manuals, reports and research
  • Organising meetings and events
  • High level document formatting, word processing and other keyboard support
  • Drafting and preparing correspondence and briefing notes
  • Facilitate the flow of paperwork to and from the office to ensure deadlines are met
  • Coordinate meetings including preparing agendas, organising venues and catering and distributing minutes
  • Maintain the computerised records management system and create, store, retrieve and archive files
  • Spreadsheet support  

Selection Criteria  

  • High level communication and problem solving skills- listens, interprets and conveys information in a clear and accurate manner
  • Provides timely delivery of information and selects the most appropriate method of communication
  • The ability to consider options, develop solutions and decide on an action
  • Ability to produce accurate and easily understood documents which meet the needs of their intended purpose
  • High level attention to detail and accuracy
  • Understand an interpret instructions and can make judgment calls
  • Willing to take up new learning opportunities and willing to take on adhoc tasks
  • MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint at an advanced level  


Previous experience in a NSW State Government Department is preferred.
