Job description

Finance Manager | Inner North Brisbane | $140K +  Super | Immediate Start

We’re proud to be supporting a well-regarded organisation, based in Brisbane, in their search for an experienced finance manager. Known for their welcoming culture and strong community values, this organisation is seeking someone to take ownership of key financial functions in a hands-on and collaborative role.

This opportunity is offered on a temporary basis initially, with strong potential to transition to a permanent role for the right individual. A hybrid work model, including work-from-home options, is available for candidates who demonstrate the right level of autonomy and reliability.

As finance manager, you will be responsible for overseeing a broad range of financial management tasks that ensure the organisation’s day-to-day financial operations run smoothly. Key areas of responsibility include financial reporting and compliance, budget preparation, monitoring and variance analysis, cashflow management and forecasting, oversight of general accounting activities including reconciliations and month-end close, grant-related financial reporting and acquittals, supporting the implementation of financial controls and process improvements, and liaising with auditors and external stakeholders as required.

You will work closely with internal teams and leadership to provide financial insights that support operational and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate:

You are a skilled finance professional who enjoys taking ownership of end-to-end financial management. You’re comfortable in both high-level reporting and hands-on accounting, and you thrive in environments where your input has a visible impact.

We are looking for someone with proven experience in a similar finance role, strong technical accounting knowledge, proficiency in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis, high attention to detail and a proactive working style, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, and experience in grant management or working with funding bodies.

Prior experience in the not-for-profit or community sector is desirable.

Candidates must be available to start immediately or with short notice.

This is an opportunity to step into a meaningful role within a values-driven organisation that genuinely cares about its people. You’ll be supported by a friendly, down-to-earth team and given the flexibility to manage your workload with a good level of autonomy.

If you're looking for a role where you can make a real contribution and be part of a positive, supportive workplace, this could be a great fit.

To express your interest or learn more about the role, please contact Kerry Tostevin at Charterhouse.

Candidates who are immediately available or can start within a short timeframe are strongly encouraged to apply.
