Payroll Accountant- Support Payroll GLs, Intercompany Journals, Superannuation and Tax
- Hybrid working, Melbourne CBD location, close to public transport
- 6 Month contract

Role summary
This role sits within the Payroll team, supporting the payroll function from a finance perspective. You’ll be responsible for key payroll accounting activities including reconciliations, intercompany journal entries, and statutory reporting. Ideal for someone detail-oriented with strong payroll compliance knowledge and systems experience.
About the role
- Manage payroll-related general ledger entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare and process intercompany journals and accruals
- Oversee superannuation and payroll tax payments in line with ANZ legislation
- Assist with period-end closing, reporting, and payroll-related audits
- Support the payroll operations team with financial queries and compliance issues
- Help enhance payroll-related financial processes and controls
Skills & experience
- Proven experience in payroll accounting, including GLs, reconciliations, and tax
- Strong knowledge of superannuation, PAYG, and leave entitlements in Australia
- Proficiency with payroll systems (SAP, ADP, Chris21) and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work with high-volume data
- Experience in FMCG, shared services, or large corporate environments is ideal
- Collaborative mindset with strong analytical and communication skills
