Payroll Officer | Central BrisbaneTake ownership of a full-function payroll portfolio within a supportive and people-focused business.
We’re currently partnering with a well-established organisation based in Central Brisbane seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, accuracy, and end-to-end responsibility in managing payroll for a medium-to-large workforce.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll. You’ll ensure compliance with awards, EBAs, and legislative requirements while delivering outstanding service to employees and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end payroll processing for weekly and fortnightly pay runs
- Interpretation of multiple awards and enterprise agreements
- Maintenance of employee records and payroll data integrity
- Processing new starters, terminations, and adjustments
- Superannuation, PAYG, and leave calculations
- Payroll reconciliations and end-of-month reporting
- Responding to employee payroll queries and providing exceptional service
- Assisting with audits, process improvements, and system enhancements
You’re a detail-oriented payroll professional who prides yourself on accuracy, efficiency, and confidentiality. You have a strong understanding of payroll legislation and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and communication are key.
Key Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience in a full-function payroll position
- Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, awards, and EBAs
- High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Experience using payroll systems
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
