Standalone Senior Payroll Officer | Brisbane - Southern Suburbs | $100-115k + SuperTake ownership of an autonomous payroll function in a supportive, well-established organisation.
We’re recruiting for a confident and capable Standalone Payroll Officer to manage the full payroll function for a growing business. This role suits someone who enjoys responsibility, values accuracy, and thrives in an environment where you can drive improvements and make the role your own.
The Role
In this standalone position, you will oversee the end-to-end weekly payroll process and act as the go-to expert for all payroll matters. Working closely with Finance and HR, you’ll ensure payroll runs smoothly, accurately, and in line with legislation.
Key responsibilities:
- Full end-to-end processing of weekly payroll
- Managing onboarding, offboarding and maintaining employee records
- Award and EBA interpretation
- Handling payroll enquiries and providing strong internal customer service
- PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax and reporting
- Month-end journals, reconciliations and data integrity
- Ensuring compliance with legislation, company policies and audit requirements
- Identifying opportunities to streamline payroll processes
- Proven end-to-end payroll experience with a strong track record within a standalone capacity
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation and awards
- Confidence working with payroll systems and MS Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage deadlines
