Role summary
Payroll Lead plays a critical role in ensuring accurate, compliant, and on-time payroll delivery for a predominantly award/EBA-based, fortnightly waged workforce. You’ll lead a team of payroll professionals, drive service levels and KPIs, and continuously improve payroll processes, controls, and governance.
About the role
- Lead accurate, compliant, and on-time end-to-end payroll delivery
- Ensure correct application of Awards, EBAs, legislation, tax, and superannuation
- Lead and develop a payroll team of four, managing workloads and service delivery
- Strengthen payroll governance, controls, and audit readiness
- Partner with HR, Finance, and the business to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement
- Proven experience as a Payroll Lead or similar payroll leadership role
- Strong working knowledge of Awards, EBAs, Fair Work legislation, PAYG, superannuation, and leave management
- Demonstrated experience leading high-performing payroll teams in complex environments
- Systems experience with SuccessFactors ECP and Kronos / UKG Pro highly desirable
