Finance Manager - Financial Modelling - Up to $170,000 plus super plus bonusLead modelling, insight and decision support through a period of growth.
We’re partnering with a growing energy business in Sydney's CBD that is on a strong trajectory, not only from a revenue perspective but a workforce capability perspective too. As the business scales, they are looking to appoint a Finance Manager - Financial Modelling to strengthen commercial insight, uplift financial modelling capability and support senior leadership through the next phase of growth.
This is a hands-on role for a commercially minded finance leader who enjoys working close to the business and translating complexity into clear, decision-ready insights.
The Role
Reporting to the senior leadership team including the CFO, the Finance Manager will play a key role in owning financial models, leading planning cycles and supporting strategic decision-making across the business. If you enjoy complex financial modelling across projects, valuations, business cases (not limited to) as well as having elements of FP&A then this role might be the perfect fit for you.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning and enhancing integrated three-statement financial models across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow
- Leading scenario, sensitivity and downside analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions and business cases
- Own financial modelling for new projects and investment opportunities, including valuations, scenario analysis and commercial feasibility assessments.
- Leading the budgeting and forecasting process, ensuring assumptions, drivers and sensitivities are robust and well understood
- Producing cash flow forecasts and analysis for monthly board reporting, including clear commentary on movements and risks
- Supporting capital management, funding and covenant monitoring, providing early identification of risks and opportunities
- Delivering ad-hoc analysis to support growth initiatives, transformation projects and commercial opportunities
You’re a confident finance professional who combines technical strength with commercial judgement.
You’ll likely bring:
- Strong financial modelling capability, including models supporting large projects
- 6–10 years’ experience across FP&A, commercial finance, corporate finance or professional services
- Experience leading budgets and forecasts in dynamic or growth environments
- CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence at senior levels
- A proactive mindset, comfortable working through ambiguity and change
- CBD-based role with flexible working
- Join an energy business experiencing genuine growth and positive change
- High-impact role with exposure to executive leadership (including CFO) and strategic decisions
- Opportunity to shape financial models, processes and team capability
- Supportive, collaborative culture with clear progression pathways
