Finance Transformation Manager (12 month FTC)

We are partnering with a Sydney CBD–based organisation to appoint an experienced Finance Transformation Lead to drive a comprehensive, end-to-end transformation of the finance function. This is an initial 12-month contract opportunity, offering the chance to shape operating models, systems and processes at a pivotal stage of change.
 
The Objective

The Finance Transformation Manager will drive the organisation’s finance modernisation program, leading both the strategic design and practical delivery of key transformation initiatives. This role will spearhead the rollout and optimisation of core finance systems, including Workday Financials, Adaptive Planning and enhanced Business Intelligence reporting capability.

With a mandate to uplift the broader finance function, the position will review and redesign the end-to-end operating model to improve efficiency, governance and scalability. A key focus will be strengthening processes across FP&A, Financial Accounting and Procurement, while establishing consistent frameworks, controls and ways of working across teams and stakeholders.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish a structured transformation strategy, including detailed milestones and delivery timelines
  • Conduct a comprehensive review of existing processes, workflows and role accountabilities
  • Analyse operational pain points, duplication and capability gaps across the function
  • Redefine team structures, responsibilities and the broader finance operating modes
  • Introduce strengthened controls, governance frameworks and streamlined processes
  • Drive stakeholder engagement and support organisational change initiatives
  • Oversee execution of the transformation program from planning through to full implementation
 
Experience Required
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end finance transformation initiatives with measurable outcomes
  • Exposure to alternative delivery models including shared services, outsourcing or offshore structures
  • Highly developed stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to lead and influence through change
  • Comfortable balancing strategic oversight with hands-on execution and operational delivery
