This is not a “wait your turn” Senior Manager role.

We’re recruiting for a Top 10 accounting firm in Brisbane that is actively planning its next generation of Directors. Due to sustained growth and Partner succession planning, they’re appointing a Business Services Senior Manager with a defined and supported pathway to Director within 1–2 years.

If you’re already operating at a Director-ready level — commercially strong, confident with clients, and respected as a leader — this role is designed for you.

The role

As Business Services Senior Manager, you’ll operate as a de facto Director-in-waiting, with responsibility for clients, people, and growth.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a portfolio of complex business services and tax clients
  • Act as trusted advisor to business owners and private groups
  • Review and oversee compliance (tax returns, financial statements, structuring)
  • Deliver strategic, commercial, and advisory outcomes
  • Lead and develop Managers and Seniors
  • Assist Partners with client growth, new work, and succession
  • Build your profile internally and externally in preparation for Director
 

About you

This role suits a Senior Manager who is ready to step up, not years away.

You will likely have:

  • CA or CPA qualification
  • 8–12+ years’ experience in Business Services / Tax (public practice)
  • Current Senior Manager experience (or exceptional Manager ready now)
  • Strong client-facing and advisory capability
  • Proven people leadership and mentoring experience
  • Clear ambition to progress to Director
