Senior Finance Officer – NSW GovernmentLocation: Sydney CBD – Hybrid
Rate: $55 – $60 per hour + Super
Contract: Ongoing until May 2026
We are recruiting on behalf of a NSW Government department for an experienced Senior Finance Officer to join their Head Office Finance team in the Sydney CBD. This is a great opportunity to work within the public sector in a long-term contract, providing financial support to a high-performing team that underpins the organisation’s important community services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage expenses and accounts payable
- Coordinate and process travel requests
- Prepare and reconcile payroll-related month-end reports
- Manage accruals and assist with period-end activities
- Provide financial processing and reporting support in SAP
- Assist with ad hoc finance duties and compliance requirements
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in a finance officer or accounts role (government sector experience highly regarded)
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and accruals
- Strong systems skills, ideally including SAP and Excel
- High attention to detail and accuracy in financial processing
- Ability to manage competing deadlines in a busy environment
- Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented approach
