About the role
This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented Payroll Officer to support the accurate and compliant processing of the fortnightly payroll. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all employees are paid correctly and on time, while maintaining high standards of customer service and confidentiality.
Working closely with the Payroll Coordinator, you’ll assist in payroll processing, reconciliations, reporting and compliance, and act as a trusted point of contact for payroll-related queries across the organisation.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, process, and finalise the fortnightly payroll in accordance with relevant awards, legislation, and enterprise agreements
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure data integrity across systems
- Calculate and process adjustments, back payments, and deductions
- Assist with superannuation payments, PAYG, and other statutory obligations
About you
- Solid experience in payroll processing, ideally within a large or complex organisation
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation requirements
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines under pressure
- Confident communicator who can provide clear, accurate payroll advice
- Skilled with payroll systems (experience with CHRIS or similar systems highly regarded) and strong Excel skills
