Job description
More than 2 years’ experience within System Administration. You will be working in a vibrant and diverse work within an innovative local council.
- 3-month contract with a potential extension
- Reputable local government organisation located in Melbourne's Western suburbs
- $65 per hour + Super / Hybrid, 3 days in the office, 2 days at home.

About the Role:
This role offers flexible working options in a hybrid model.
- Monitor the availability of the cloud infrastructure and ensure that the infrastructure is setup with best security practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to SQL servers and virtualization software.
- Provide technical support cloud computing, network and telephony servers, and storage systems.
- Support primary technologies, including intel server hardware, systems management tools, remote server management techniques, TCP/IP network components and services, and Microsoft Active Directory.
- Provide specialist support and advice in relation to virtualization software (VMware and Hyper-V) and services, firewalls, cloud computing, network and telephony servers, and storage.
- Ensure that the infrastructure is set up with best security practices.
About You:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Systems Administrator.
- Proficient with SQL servers
- Demonstrated experience with server optimisations.
- Strong Server virtualisation experience - VMware and Hyper-V
- Proficient in the deployment and maintenance of IT infrastructure
- Cloud experience – Azure
- SAN storage exposure
- Hands-on experience in managing and maintaining the physical and virtual infrastructure of a data center.
- Administration of Office 365
- Advanced teamwork skills, must be able to connect with colleagues and work together toward common goals
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to set priorities and follow direction to plan and organise.
- Ability to work autonomously and seek guidance when necessary
- Proof of vaccination certificate
