Job description
An established and reputable public practice accounting firm is seeking a Junior Accountant to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to continue developing their technical skills within a supportive and professional environment.About the Role
Working closely with senior accountants and partners, you will gain hands-on experience across a broad client base and core compliance work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparation of individual, company, trust, and partnership tax returns
- Assisting with BAS and IAS preparation
- Bookkeeping support using Xero / MYOB
- Supporting senior staff with compliance and client queries
- Maintaining accurate client records and working papers
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Commerce, or a related discipline
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in public practice accounting
- Australian Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship required
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
- Intention to commence or continue CA or CPA studies
- Ongoing training and mentoring
- Exposure to a diverse client base
- Study support for CA/CPA
