Senior Accountant/ Supervisor – Business Services

  • $100k-120k package 
  • 25% of clients in Top 500, and 40% of clients in top 5000
  • Flexible working hours (Core hours 10-12pm, 2-4pm)
 

Summary

A mid sized, well established Chartered Accounting firm in the Sydney CBD is seeking a strong Senior Accountant to join its growing Business Services division. This is a hands on role offering exposure to high quality, complex clients, and genuine flexibility.

About the Firm

  • This firm has been operating for close to 20 years and employs around 45 staff across Business Services, Audit, SMSF and Administration, with approximately 80% of the practice focused on Business Services.
  • The Business Services team is made up of around 26 professionals working with sophisticated clients across family groups, tech start ups, health, construction and complex multi entity structures.
  • The client base includes 20-30% Top 500 clients and approximately 40% Top 5000 clients, with work ranging from compliance through to advisory and large scale due diligence projects.
  • A good chunk of their staff have 10+ years tenure. The culture is warm, inclusive and collaborative, with a no ego policy.

About the Role

  • You will be a key member of the Business Services team, working closely with Managers and Directors on a diverse and interesting client portfolio.
  • The role is hands on and will involve preparation and review of financial statements, tax returns and related compliance work, as well as exposure to advisory and complex group structures.
  • You will manage a portfolio of approximately $300k in fees with guidance, and play a role in the continued development of the firm’s advisory offering.
About You

  • You will have at least 3 years experience in Business Services within an accounting firm
  • Strong technical foundations with the ability to handle complex clients and multi entity groups
  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, comfortable working in a team based environment
  • Someone who is hands on, reliable and takes ownership of their work and deadlines
  • Interested in long term progression and growing with a firm rather than making short term moves
  • CA or CPA qualified, or currently studying, would be highly regarded
