Job description

  • 3 month contract opportunity 
  • Work from home
  • $38 per hour plus super

This leading local government authority are seeking a Communications Advisor to join their team on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast paced and collaborative team working on promoting Council activities across the community. The role will also focus on internal communications to ensure all staff are aware and adhere to Council's standards and current restrictions.

The role:

  • Create content including researching and writing articles for the newsletter and speeches
  • Preparing media releases and responding to media requests in a prompt manner
  • Actively manage social media across various platforms
  • Advising internal staff on procedures around promotion of brands and events
  • Taking part in various ongoing projects

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent experience in communications, PR, marketing or journalism
  • Experience in a similar role dealing with media and media requests
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • High level of organisation skills and ability to prioritise
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word, Adobe Photoshop
