  • 3 month contract opportunity with possibility to go permanent

This local government authority are seeking a Coordinator due to a period of growth. The position will start as a contract role but there will be opportunity to go permanent after 3 months. The role will be responsible for coordinating a range of governance, statutory, property and office services in order to support Council's representation.

Key responsibilities:

  • Providing support and advice to Councillors and management in relation to Council processes
  • Developing continuous improvement strategies to support the organisation in achieving its goals
  • Overseeing the implementation of governance processes
  • Lead a team of 10 including the Council business team and Civic Services team
  • Coordinating and preparing for Council and committee meetings

Desired skills and experience:

  •  ​​​Previous local government experience is essential
  • Experience in the management of civic services functions that deliver on Council and community expectations
  • Political and business acumen
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
