Job description

Purpose of the Role 
 The role supports the Business Unit Finance Manager in the delivery of quality advice and information to support their allocated business unit to meet and exceed their financial targets in the short, medium and long term
Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist the manger with the review of monthly P&L and balance sheets for their business unit for completeness and accuracy
  • Preparation and review of accruals or adjustments as required
  • Submit commentary for central reporting
  • Provide reporting for BUF Manager and BU heads summarising results for the month, YTD and forecast
  • Assist with FR&C queries as required e.g. from General Ledger reconciliations reviews
  • Prepare and maintain budget / forecast models as required
  • Assist in analysis of inputs, particularly transaction drivers
  • Submit BU Budgets to Business Advisory & Support in accordance with the Budget timetable
  • Prepare reporting on budget / forecast submissions, including status against target
  • Assist with financial analysis to support business cases
  • Maintain and update cost centre and product hierarchy
  • Build and maintain financial models to support pricing decisions
  • Develop tools to enable in depth analysis of results and trends, analysis including Client segments, Market trends/competitor analysis, Product value chains and Customer or product profitability

Key Relationships

  • Senior Business Unit Management Team (finance and non-finance)
  • Group Finance Managers and staff 
    Experience Required
  • 3+ years’ experience within a management accounting or FP&A team; or
  • 3+ years in an Accountant, Commercial Analyst or Financial Analyst role; or Senior Analyst or equivalent in a Chartered environment (with minimum 6 months as a Senior Analyst)


  • Experience within retail banking or payments; or
  • Experience within IT / Technology 


  • Relevant university degree (Bachelor of Commerce) or equivalent tertiary qualification
  • CA/CPA
