About the Company:

This is a central agency of NSW government which sits more than 30 agencies and entities within it. Key projects include leading bushfire relief efforts, the workers comp system and introducing rebates to ease cost of living. There is a huge focus on improving customer service within each program where they strive to deliver a more efficient digital experience and further engage the community.

About the Role:

An opportunity to join a high achieving, experienced and fun team to provide a range of accounting services, reports, expert advice and support to the organisation. Reporting into the Finance Director you will be ensuring that the company are compliant with statutory obligations and accounting standards. The role also contributes to the development, implementation and maintenance of financial policies, procedures and/or practices that facilitate and contribute to improving financial reporting and/or related financial systems within the organisation.

• Prepare relevant financial statements, and/or statutory reports for submission, and coordinate implementation of improved internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards
• Provide specialist technical advice, support and/or training on financial matters and practices, accounting policies and procedures, statutory reporting and treasury
• Monitor and review policies and application of charts of accounts
• Partner with Finance colleagues to review and implement changes to accounting strategies, policies and procedures
• Develop and recommend financial accounting and/ or taxation strategies
• Develop and review financial accounting and/or taxation policies, procedures and practices to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity
• Manage the preparation of statutory financial statements and/ or all tax returns
• Monitor and review banking and cash management policies and procedures

About You:

• CA/ CPA Qualification
• 7+ years experience in financial accounting
• Proven preparation of financial statements
• Proven implementation of accounting standards
• Treasury reporting
• SAP preferred
